Recognition Nights:

Recognition Nights has been posted in all homerooms. If you do not see your name and feel you are eligible, please
come to the Student Activities Office as soon as possible. The Freshmen Honor Roll Night will be held
on Thursday, May 29, and the Grades 10, 11, and 12 Honor Roll Night will be
held on Tuesday, June 3. [6/3]
Chinese Academy at University of Penn:
The
University of Pennsylvania is delighted to announce the second year of the Penn
High School Chinese Academy. Aimed at high school students in all grades,
this Chinese-language program couples Penn’s internationally known Chinese
language and studies programs with its extensive experience in intellectual
development programs for high school students. The Chinese Academy will
run for six weeks, from July 7 to August 5, 2008 and is offering Chinese I
& II. Classes will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through
Thursday and from 9:00 AM – 12 noon on Friday. The program has places for
35 high school students, each of who will be granted a scholarship of $1,000 to
be applied to the $1,876 tuition; the final tuition for each student

Burlington County Farm Fair Queen Pageant:
Junior and senior girls are invited to apply to be a
contestant in the 2008 Burlington County Farm Fair Queen Pageant to be held on
July 23, 2008, the opening day of the fair.
Along with the completed application, an essay addressing the following
question is required: What impact has
the Farm Fair made in Burlington County and what would it mean to you to
represent the Fair as the 2008 Farm Fair Queen? Interested girls can pick up the necessary paperwork in the
scholarship bin in the Guidance Office.

Seniors – Let’s Go Cruising!
On June 19th following graduation all seniors are
invited to attend the Project Graduation Cruise around New York City. Permission slips are available in the Main
Office and must be returned by Friday, May 23rd. Don’t miss the boat…..get your permission
form signed and return it to the Main Office ASAP!

Scholarship:
The
Willingboro Fort Dix McGuire Foundation is accepting applications for their
annual scholarship from students planning to attend an institute of higher
learning. They are looking for well-rounded applicants and awards will
not be based solely on scholastic excellence. Community service and
career plans will be important in the decisions of the committee. Along
with the completed short application, a personal letter from the applicant
conveying your best qualities and dreams is required. Applications are in
the scholarship bin in the Guidance Department. Deadline: May

Journalism
Competition:
The
American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey is pleased to announce their 2008
Student Press Liberties Award competition to recognize high school student
journalism. The purpose of this competition is to celebrate and encourage
high school journalism and courageous public affairs reporting about civil
liberties topics in the tradition of First Amendment freedoms. Each year
a winning article is chosen by professional reporters at top NJ newspapers and
the student writer(s) receive cash prizes of $250. Complete contest
details are provided on a flyer in the scholarship bin in the Guidance
Office. Students can also learn more about the contest and other

Scholarship for Visually Impaired Student:
The Guild
offers an annual scholarship program for college-bound high school students who
are legally blind. Applications will be accepted from students at the end
of their junior year, with recipients selected and scholarships awarded
later in their senior year. The program will award 12 – 15 scholarships
of up to $15,000 each. The Guild is a not-for-profit; nonsectarian agency
that has, since 1914, been serving persons of all ages who are visually
impaired, blind and multi-disabled. Furthermore, The Guild does not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation,
disability, age, sponsorship, marital status, citizenship or national and
ethnic origin. Applications and supporting documents must be at The Guild
by July 1st. To apply for the scholarship, please
log on to www.jgb.org/guildscholar.asp.
The application process I on-line. The recommendations and personal
statements must be submitted electronically as a Microsoft Word document; other
supporting information may be submitted in Word, PDF, JPEG or TIFF format.
Along with the completed application, requirements include three letters
of recommendation and two personal statements: one about the applicant
and the second describing the influence of an outstanding teacher on your

Buses
will follow the normal morning schedule for pickup of students participating in
the NJPAA testing. Students should
immediately report to their assigned testing classrooms. A second bus run will drop off all other
students at the school at approximately 9:15am. Upon arrival, those students should report to the cafeteria until
dismissed to homeroom. It will be a
regular dismissal time for buses.
