Graduation Requirements
On April 26, 2005, the Board of Education approved the recommendation to increase the graduation requirement from 116 credits to 130 credits. The board also approved the elimination of late arrivals and early dismissals for freshmen and sophomores. After reviewing the statistics of the class of 2004, the committee determined that requiring 130 credits for graduation was a realistic goal for seniors.Beginning with the class of 2009, students will need 32.5 credits to be considered a sophomore; 65 credits to be considered a junior and 97.5 credits to be considered a senior.
In addition to earning credits during the regular school day, students will have the option of earning credits by attending summer school, completing community service, participating in job shadowing and internship opportunities and enrolling in courses at Burlington County College. Students will also have the opportunity to explore options provided by the Virtual High School, a new option for students next fall.
