Rancocas Valley Regional Adult School

The Rancocas Valley Regional Adult School, now in its 49th year, is a non-profit community project. It is organized for the purpose of serving the people of the Rancocas Valley Regional High School district and other neighboring communities. It aims to promote cultural, educational and recreational welfare for the citizens it serves.
The Adult
School provides the opportunity for individuals to learn new skills,
broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding, and achieve some
measure of self-realization and fulfillment. This program is under
the supervision of the Rancocas Valley Regional Board of Education and
administered by the Adult Continuing Education Office.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

This is a basic education course offering Reading, Writing, Math and life coping skills. Students must be eighteen years of age or older (16-17 year olds need certificate of consent). A $10 registration fee is charged to all participants.
Adult High School Diploma (ADP)
This is a program for adults (minimum age 18 years; 16-17 year olds need certificate of consent) who are interested in obtaining a high school diploma. Credits may be given for competencies developed outside the classroom. The areas considered for credit are the following: work experience, on-the job training, apprenticeship, basic military training, and previous high school or college work. This multiple option approach for adults also will provide classroom and other types of instruction leading to a high school diploma.
Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, all students must earn 130 credits. These credits must include 20 credits in English, 15 credits in Mathematics, 15 credits in Science, 5 credits in World History, 10 credits in Health/Fitness, 5 credits in World Language, 5 credits in the Visual and Performing Arts, and 5 credits in either Career Education, Family and Consumer Science, Life Skills or Vocational Technical Education. Additionally, all students must pass the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA-11) prior to graduation.
A $25 registration fee is charged to all students.

English As a Second Language (ESL)
This program is designed for students with limited English skills This course will enable students to acquire the oral and written language skills necessary to function effectively and independently in an English speaking environment. A $10 registration fee is charged to all students.
Our general education courses are listed in the brochure mailed to all homes in the RVRHS region. All information about the courses, their costs and registration can be found in this brochure. Please take time to read it and send in the registration forms for the courses that interest you. We are extremely pleased to offer over 100 different classes including art, health-related, dance, exercise, language, finance, computer and sports programs aimed at meeting your cultural, educational and recreational needs. High School Equivalency Program (GED)
This course is designed to enable students to study for, take and pass the GED test. Reading, writing and computational skills will be reinforced so that students may succeed in their academic, economic and personal environments. A $10 registration fee is charged for all students.
