ENGLISH DEPARTMENT Four years of English are required for graduation. Students are placed in English I courses on the basis of nationally standardized verbal tests, English and reading course grades, GEPA/ASK-8 scores, and eighth grade teacher/counselor recommendations. (Students interested in English I-Honors must take the Honors Readiness Assessment). For English II to IV, students are encouraged to continue with the same type of course unless performance and/or scores indicate otherwise. They are also reminded that each year of English must be successfully completed before the next course can be taken. |
